Please give me some tips on using the cash register for the first time?

Like the kind at any old convenience store, with no scanner and which requires you to punch in the price on the keypad. It takes amex, visa, MC, ETC. I'm a little technology disabled and I only have one day to show my boss that I can handle working that baby.

Any tips really, like how to count the change quickly, what happens if the receipt roller gets stuck, ETC.

Thankyou in advance! Please give me some tips on using the cash register for the first time?every cash machine is different no matter what kind...im assuming you havent touched it yet, which means someone has to train you. when your being trained, this is the time to ask a million questions, even the silly ones. your there to learn, not to be critiqued...after you training, which i would assume would be during normal working hours, ask the trainee to pretend they are the customer when the real ones go away so you can practice some more. the best training is live training but it does help for more practice...

counting change quicker isnt a science..count it normally as you would do your own. just make sure its right. when your low of change, ask for somemore before the next customer comes, same with the dollars.

if the receipt gets stuck, ask how to take it out and reset it..

your just nervous..if you give that vibe, it will show..

goodluck:)

the key is to ask all what if questions during your training so you will knw what to do
