ive used 289 flywheels on 302's and the other way around and had no problems so im wondering if they changed the weight on the flywheels on the 80'sDid the weight on 302 flexplates change from 68 to 85?yes, they do have another weighted flywheel.i cant quote the ounces, but i think its like a difference of 11 or 12 ounces,its been a long time.Did the weight on 302 flexplates change from 68 to 85?Yes, the old flywheel use 28oz counterweight while newer 302 use 50oz. Did the weight on 302 flexplates change from 68 to 85?
i put a 302 out of a 85 mercury marque in a 68 mustang with a c4 that had a 289 so i had to buy a flywheel from an early 302 that was the small one and i have a vibration and i think it might be a balance problem
